The Pixel 8a from Google is expected to make its debut at the annual I/O developer conference in May. It has already been seen in CAD-based renderings, and there has been a worrying rumor that it costs more than the Pixel 7a.
Since then, we've been curious about what improvements it would offer to make the price increase more tolerable. Today, a fresh leak provides the information. Like the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, the Pixel 8a will be powered by the Tensor G3 chipset and have a 120 Hz refresh rate, which is a first for an a-series Pixel.
As you might imagine from its name, the new mid-ranger's general appearance resembles that of the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. Its screen will have a maximum HDR brightness of 1,400 nits. The 8a will use the same cameras as the 7a and offer DisplayPort output.
